 Greetings!  I hope this letter finds you in the best health and spirits.

My name is Odunjo K. Copeland and I am currently a Senior Communication Management major, Business Administration minor, at Howard University. I have been offered the once in a lifetime opportunity to travel with a research organization to China to study accents and regional dialects within Shanghai, Tokyo, and Beijing. This trip aligns perfectly with my own career goals of becoming a marketing manager and young scholar whom is well versed in a critical language.

 The trip has offered students the opportunity to travel abroad for research opportunities.  In addition to our studies, we will visit sights such as The Bund, the Shanghai Financial Center, the Jade Buddha Temple, the Forbidden City, the Great Wall of China, and the Beijing Zoo. The total cost of the program is approximately $5,000.00.  To date, I have been able to secure a pledge of $998.50 from friends and colleagues to accomplish my goal and take my first step on my journey to broadening my horizons and continuing my education.

 This letter is therefore to solicit your help with my sponsorship.  I am asking for a donation of $50.00 or more to help me reach my goal of $5,000.00. This letter will also be sent to other business owners and concerned friends to help with this admirable cause.  Your contribution is very important, because it will help me in my endeavor to become a versatile scholar. Since I have a deadline of  July 15th, I would appreciate if you can make your contribution before that time.
